Sunday Morning Ministries

  

Nursery     Our nursery is divided into infant and toddler areas.  Each area is staffed by a group of dedicated and qualified caregivers.  Our team is led by Nancy Otworth.  In addition to Sunday morning, nursery care is provided for many of our other ministry gatherings. 

 

 

Sunday School     As United Methodist we believe organized spiritual growth and formation is key in developing faith.  Though parents have the greatest responsibility in passing on the Christian faith,  we are committed to being a part of a child's faith journey.   On Sunday mornings children are welcome to join groups according to their age.  All 3-year olds through Kindergarten children meet in 112 for a gathering and song time and have their own Bible Lesson.  1st and 2nd graders meet upstairs in room 219. 3rd graders meet in the media Room upstairs and 4th and 5th grade gather in room 220.  Sunday school is 9:15 to 10:15. All children need to be signed-in and out from the front desk.

 

Children's Time in Worship     Worship is a vital experience for children to enter God's presence alongside adults.  A special time is given to them during each morning worship service (with the exception of 8:00am early service worship on Communion Sundays).  This is a time where the children are invited to the altar area and receive God's Word in their language.  Children are a blessing and we welcome them.  Special bulletins and activity sheets are available for young and older children.    The nursery is available to children five years and younger.  

 

Childrens Church---R.O.C.K--(Reaching out for Christ the King)

 The ROCK is an optional service for children in Kindergarten-5th grade.  Children will begin in the 10:40 worship service and will then have the option of leaving after the children's sermon for a time of worship in the Upper Room.  The children will share in upbeat praise and worship music, an offering, a message presented in various forms from Sunday to Sunday with a focused scripture verse and then conclude in small groups to further discuss the message.  Parents will pick up their children immediately following the 10:40 service in the upper Room. (The Upper Room is located at the top of the stairs just down the hall from the sanctuary.)

The worship team for Children's Church will be comprised of Carrie Hendrix, Scott McLeod and Mike Mercer.  We will not have Children's Church on Communion Sunday or any other signifcant celebration in the life of our church family.  It is important that the children stay connected to the church and the church stay connected to them.

Loving Laps Program     Adults volunteers are asked to help in the nursery areas with the crafts, reading Bible stories, and just loving and playing with the children.
