Mission Trip to San Leon
Psalm 100:1-2 says "Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the lands! Serve the Lord with gladness!" At one time in my life, I thought "making a joyful noise" meant singing with our voices, clapping our hands, or playing musical instruments. But last week I learned another meaning to "making a joyful noise to the Lord"; the noise came through the sounds of hammers pounding nails into lumber, saws ripping boards to specific measurements, and drills securing door frames to walls. Another joyful sound was that of four-year-old Maria's feet hitting the tiled floors as she ran to greet us; with a big smile, she burst into her family's home each morning to see the rebuilding progress. God's love was evident daily in the joyful service of each mission team member. Individuals from Boerne, Seadrift, Port Lavaca, Shiner, New Orleans and our congregation (Cliff Kunkel, Lem Smith, Nancy Farris, Linda Key, B.J. Cornstubble, Marge Caraway, and Pastor Marilyn) worked on four homes in San Leon, Texas.  Thank you for your continued support and prayers for this outreach ministry.
