Vocal Choirs


Sanctuary Choir

The Sanctuary Choir meets on Wednesday evenings from 7:15-8:45 pm.   This choir leads our music in the 10:40 am worship service.  Throughout the year this choir provides a wide variety of beautiful music for not only our regular Sunday worship, but also special services including Hanging of the Greens, Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, and Good Friday.  They also prepare Cantatas for our Christmas and Easter celebrations.  Childcare is provided.

 

 Early Awakening Choir     

The Early Awakening Choir meets on Sunday mornings at 7:30 am to sing in the 8:00 am worship service.  This dedicated group provides a wide variety of music for our early service, and they often combine with the Sanctuary Choir to prepare larger works for our special celebrations throughout the year.

 

 Youth Choir

The Youth Choir meets on Sunday afternoons 4:30-5:15pm and is comprised of youth in middle school and high school.  This choir performs musicals, sings in worship, and prepares music for the Southwest Texas Conference Youth Choir Rally held every spring.

 

Cherub Choir

The Cherub choir is comprised of children 3 years old through 1st grade.  They are led by Debbie Durham, Donna Salinas, and Christy Salinas.  They rehearse on Wednesday afternoons from 5:00-5:25 pm beginning in September.  The children learn about music through singing and playing rhythm instruments.  They sing periodically in worship.

 

Children's Choir

The Children's Choir consists of children in grades 1-5.  They are led by Connie Sistrunk and Jim McFarland, and they rehearse on Wednesday afternoons from 5:30-6:30 pm beginning in September.  The children sing regularly in worship and prepare musicals in the fall.
