Prayer Intention for May

This month's prayer intention is for mothers; mothers of every type...birth mothers, adoptive mothers, step-mothers, those who act as mothers intentionally or unintentionally.

Lord, you recognized the worth of women, appreciated their efforts and accepted their gifts of love. Help us to identify Tabitha, Hanna and Mary in our mothers. As our mothers struggle to juggle daily chores help them to grow in their relationship with you. May our older women perform their God-given responsibility to teach younger women how to be good wives/ mothers /homemakers.These things we ask in your name, Jesus Christ.

Acts 9:36-42

 Invitation to Prayer

I've always admired people that accept change. Change is usually difficult for most people. We like everything to stay the same, that way we know whats coming! But as we know, life is full of changes. John Lennon of the Beatle fame said, 'Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans.' We humans make alot of plans. But do we consult our Heavenly Father with our plans? He knows whats best for us, but time and again we do our own thing...while life goes on!
In the Old Testament, Jeremiah 29:11, The Lord is speaking to the exiles in Babylon. Even so, it speaks to us today. 'I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
The invitation to prayer is that we as children of God would always desire His way, not ours. If we pray and then listen, He will speak and we will know His will.
For those of you that accept change well, I would venture to say, you practice your faith and trust God to do the rest.
'Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; In all ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path.'
